Gail Dodge, RN, MSN, CEN

Gail Dodge is an ED nurse with over 30 years experience in a variety of professional roles, most notably in education, leadership and healthcare consulting. She has also traveled extensively, performing emergency department operational analysis and working with staff to improve the patient flow process. Focusing on improving metrics from shortened throughput time to patient satisfaction, she also understands the impact that proposed change has on staff behavior, believing it important to support and encourage staff during operational change in order to achieve department goals that ultimately benefit the patient experience.

Gail's past roles include staff nurse, educator and department director. She currently serves as chair for the Trauma committee for California ENA and as a regional director for its Pediatric Committee. Having previously served as state president for the organization, Gail brings an experienced perspective to the unique needs of the emergency department environment. Her course offerings comprise a wide range of topics, including leadership development, roles of the preceptor, charge and triage nurse, new grad program development, and a variety of clinically focused emergency topics. Presenting at national conferences, she has spoken on diverse topics from ethics and triage to career identity and leadership. She has been awarded for both community and nursing leadership roles, including the Soroptomist’s Women Helping Women award for her efforts in empowering others in nursing.
