Nancy Bonalumi, RN, MS, CEN, FAEN
SENIOR DIRECTOR
As a leader in emergency nursing, Nancy has direct access to best practices in EDs across the country. As a member of the Blue Jay Consulting team, she has demonstrated effectiveness as a change agent, with an emphasis on improving ED processes and engaging all members of the healthcare team in transforming their workplace. Prior to joining the Blue Jay Consulting team, she was the director of emergency and trauma nursing at a major academic pediatric medical center. Previously, she gained experience in various leadership roles in EDs throughout the Eastern United States, including several facility design and construction projects.
As a consultant, Nancy has supported facility design and construction, implemented financial strategies to increase reimbursement and shared her extensive clinical knowledge in emergency care with her clients, Utilizing the intersection of strategy, process and culture, she guides organizations toward best practice performance.
Nancy is an active member of the Emergency Nurses Association, serving as President in 2006. She has been extensively published in professional journals and is a contributing author to numerous books. Nancy was the 2010 secretary for the Coordinating Team of the Nursing Organizations Alliance, representing sixty-five specialty nursing associations and is currently enrolled in a doctoral program with a focus on leadership development.
