Russell H. Harris, MD, MMM, CPE, FACEP

Russell H. Harris MD, MMM, CPE, FACEP is an AOA graduate from Temple University School of Medicine and completed his training in the United States Navy, Portsmouth Virginia. He completed his Masters Degree in Medical Management from Tulane University in 2000. He has served as the Chairman of the Emergency Department of Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden, NJ 1988-2003 and is currently the Departmental Vice-Chairman. He is on the Emergency Medicine Faculty of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and has faculty affiliations with several other institutions.
Dr. Harris is the CEO of the Northeast Region of EmCare, and has responsibility for the physician management of approximately 30 emergency departments from Virginia to Maine. In this position, he is responsible for over 400 full and part-time emergency physicians.
Dr. Harris has numerous publications and is an active lecturer in the area of EMTALA. An active clinician, he has worked in over 15 emergency departments throughout his career. Recently, he served as an administrative fellow assigned to the New Jersey Senate Health Committee where he advised the committee on health issues. He is a retired Captain in the United States Naval Reserves.
Dr. Harris is past-president of the New Jersey chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians and received their distinguished service award in 2005. He serves as the Chairman of ACEP's State Legislative and Regulatory Committees.
